CRA Review and Audit Support
CRA review and audit response, end to end.
Don’t ignore the letter
CRA letters have hard deadlines. A pre-assessment review ignored becomes a Notice of Reassessment with the credit denied. A Notice of Reassessment unobjected becomes final after 90 days. The earlier we engage, the more options remain open.
What’s included
- Letter analysis (we tell you what it actually means in plain English)
- Document gathering and Form AUT-01 Authorize a Representative
- Direct correspondence with the CRA reviewer or auditor on your behalf
- T1-ADJ adjustment requests when an error in the original return needs correcting
- Notice of Objection (T400A) preparation when CRA’s reassessment is wrong, with appeal to the Tax Court of Canada if the objection is denied
- Taxpayer Relief Provisions (RC4288) applications for cancellation of interest and penalties
- Voluntary Disclosures Program (VDP) submissions for unreported income or unfiled returns
- Payment arrangements with CRA Collections
Who it’s for
Anyone holding a CRA letter and unsure what to do next. Open the envelope, scan the letter into our portal, and we’ll have a plan within two business days.
Frequently asked
What kinds of CRA letters do you handle?
All of them — pre-assessment reviews, processing reviews, matching-program letters (CRA found a slip you didn't report), Demand to File, Notice of Reassessment, Statement of Account / collection notices, and full audits. The first step is always to read the letter carefully; most reviews ask for documents within 30 days.
Do I need to be an existing tax-prep client?
No. We take on representation engagements for people whose returns we didn't prepare. We'll review the original return and the letter together and propose a path forward.
How much will this cost?
A response to a routine review letter is typically a flat fee based on the issue. Audit representation is hourly with a not-to-exceed cap. We give you a written estimate before any work starts.
Can you negotiate a payment arrangement if I owe?
Yes — payment arrangements with CRA Collections are within scope, as are Taxpayer Relief Program applications for interest and penalty cancellation when there are valid grounds (financial hardship, CRA error, or extraordinary circumstances). For severe insolvency, we'll refer you to a Licensed Insolvency Trustee.
